Holly-day Frame

Before and After photo of Holiday Mini-Frame

Make your favorite counted cross stitch design more festive with a few simple berries and leaves. Place the stitchery in a 2.7" (72mm) plastic frame. Mold sprigs of holly leaves and berries for each of the four corners and bake the clay. Attach cooled pieces with Arts and Crafts Goop™. Draw leaf veins with a permanent fine-tipped black marker. Complete the presentation with a decorative braid glued around the outer edges.

For cross stitch enthusiasts, this pattern was worked in DMC flower thread on 14-count ecru Aida. It is an original design ©1998 by Judi Maddigan. The two-sided mini-frame is by Sweet Suspensions™, courtesy of Bruna, Ventura, CA.

RosebudAdditional Ideas:

  • Finish both sides of the frame for a two-sided ornament.
  • Add molded flowers as dimensional elements to matching stitched designs.
  • Frame an infant's photo for a "Baby's First Christmas" gift.
