Flower Face Pillow Box

Printed and pierced digi-stamp images on a pillow box and belly band, by Judi Maddigan

Project Description

You can fill this whimsical box with a special gift or treat. The little pixie face was hand sculpted in polymer clay and glued to a silk flower. This printed cardstock pillow box has a tabbed closure and the template comes free with our Pierced Backgrounds set. The three painted leaves are from our Pierced Flowers set. The small leaf motif from the Seasonal Borders was digitally added to the swirls background image on the box to tie the whole design together. The overall finished size is 3.5" x 6".

Materials & Techniques

Digital stamping images from AngelsLanding.com: Pierced Flowers, Seasonal Borders, and Pierced Backgrounds. The last set includes the free tabbed pillow box template.

Materials: good quality cardstock in yellow and green, polymer clay, artist pastels (for blushing the cheeks), variegated rayon thread for hair, two black seed beads for eyes, E6000 cement or gel cyanoacrylate adhesive (for attaching the baked clay), yellow silk flower, bronze sheer ribbon, Terrifically Tacky Tape (for belly band).

Craft supplies: Needle piercing tool, mouse pad, sharp detail scissors, paper trimmer, art supplies for coloring or painting, white gel pen for eye highlights, Scor-Pal (optional) and scoring tool.

Techniques: The silk flower was dismantled from its wire stem and only the petals were used for this project. The leaf images were printed with a laser printer on artist quality watercolor paper and painted with watercolors. For inkjet printers, colored pencils or art markers could be used.
