This easy Christmas card uses pierced borders to accent designer patterned paper. Two tiny holly leaves from the Seasonal Borders have been cut out and attached as a focal point on the bow. The holly berries are seed beads.

Materials: good quality cardstock in cream, red, and dark green. Sheer red ribbon, white and red gel pens, 9 red seed beads for holly berries, square Nestability die cut. Holiday Cheer Earthtones paper by American Traditional Designs.
Craft supplies: Needle piercing tool, sharp scissors, paper trimmer, art supplies for coloring or painting, glue, double-sided tape runner.
Techniques: For the cream cardstock, the borders were digitally combined and printed. The holly leaves were colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with Gamsol. For the dark green cardstock, the Faux Stitched Borders were first printed on transparency film. The printed transparency was aligned parallel with the edge of the cardstock and used as a piercing template. After piercing, the "stitching" lines were added with gel pens. The printed transparencies can be saved and reused for other projects.
