The Idea Gallery shows a finished project made with this technique: 3-D Flowers in Flowerpot.

Bending the top of the wire stem1. Print the digital flower and leaf images on cardstock and cut them out. Each flower has a larger back layer and a smaller top layer. If desired, the flower petals can be pierced. Do not pierce the center vein of the leaves.

Cut a piece of the heavier 20 gauge wire 1" longer than the finished length of the flower's stem. The sample was made with a 7" length of wire. With pliers, form a loop in one end of the wire and bend it more more than a 90° angle from the straight stem.

Attach the bottom flower layer to the wire2. With a needle piercing tool, poke a hole in the center of the larger flower. Thread the bottom of the stem wire through the hole from front to back, pulling it all the way through until the wire loop is against the cardstock. Cover the wire loop with a dimensional glue dot and adhere it to the cardstock flower's center.

Attach the top flower layer and button center3. Position the smaller flower on top of the bottom layer. Use another glue dot to attach the button to the top flower's center. Bend some of the petals up and some of them down to give the flower more dimension.

Cut thin strips of cardstock for the backs of the leaves4. Cut a strip of green cardstock slightly wider than the 1/4" red liner tape. Run a line of tape along the cardstock strip and then cut pieces from it that are shorter than the leaves. Round the corners of the cut strips.
