Design Team: Friday Bonus 6-5-09
In addition to the main Digital Design Team features that will run on my blog on Wednesdays, some weeks we’ll have an extra project on Fridays. This week’s bonus comes from Lauri Ingram.

Lauri made this bookmark with a kookaburra from the Aussie Animals set. She paired him with a wonderful quote from Maya Angelou. The bird was colored with Koh-I-Noor pencils blended with odorless mineral spirits. That technique worked especially well to create the fuzzy texture on the bird’s chest. She trimmed the bird leaving a narrow white border, which makes him stand out against the feather print background. Check Lauri’s blog for larger photos and more details. |

What a great way to show off the kookaburra bird – perching on a great sentiment! Love the choice of colors – it really shows off the details on the bird and ties in perfectly with the rest of the bookmark.
