This week the Digital Design Team has created nine pillow boxes. The PDF pillow box template comes free with the Angels Landing Pierced Backgrounds set. The no-glue box template has a flap with a tabbed closure, which can be placed either on the front or the back. Click the photos to see larger versions and read all the details on the designers’ blogs.
White-on-White Pillow Box by Suzy Haghighi
This white-on-white pillow box is clean and fresh, with a pop of color from Pierced Flowers that have been colored with Copics, then cut and shaped with various heights of dimensional foam dots. The center of the flowers have sparkle from Stickles Glitter Glue. The Pillow Box itself is made of white cardstock with a slip-off sleeve of textured vellum which has a cross stitch type of pattern on it. The sleeve is edged with satin white ribbon, which is shaped into a large bow on one side. Suitable for a graduation, wedding, or bridal shower favor boxes, you can add your special date with self-adhesive white foam letters.

Sweet Birthday Wishes by Lynn McAuley
Lynn printed the precious little sugar glider on white Georgia Pacific card stock, colored with Prismacolor Pencils and odorless mineral spirits. He was cut out and mounted with dimensionals on a double belly band of Certainly Celery and Chocolate Chip card stock by Stampin’ Up. The fern and butterfly are Martha Stewart punches. The punched blossom is EKSuccess. The ribbon slide tag is a part of the Angels Landing Pierced Tags collection. It was printed on white Georgia Pacific card stock, pierced, sponged with Certainly Celery and Chocolate, cut out and attached with ribbon to the pillow box. Metallic flat-back beads were the final decorative addition.

Floral Bouquet Box by Cheryl Rowley
Cheryl created this package using the pillow box template that comes with Pierced Backgrounds and K & Co decorative paper. The floral bouquet is from one printing of Simply Flowers and one of the many tags in Pierced Tags. The flowers and leaves are colored with Copics and arranged on a background Nestability which has been punched to thread the ribbon. The small blue flower on the right has a yellow brad in the center and Stickles were added to all of the flower centers. The Best Wishes tag was sponged with aqua and green ink. Wouldn’t this package be great for a bridesmaid’s gift, a graduate’s gift, or even a gift card for some lucky recipient?

Beary Best! by Cheryl Walker
Cheryl airbrushed the whole pillow box with her Copic airbrush system and used one of the Angels Landing swirl backgrounds on it. She picked the two birds and two bears from the Mini Bears & Birds set. The bears are alcohol inked to get the look they have. She also chose the sentiment "Wishing you all the beary best," splitting it into two sections for balance.

Need a hug? by Cheryl Walker
Cheryl did the same technique on this pillow box, too. She used alcohol inks on the bear and colored the flower with Copics. The tag is airbrushed (not visible in this thumbnail). On both of her boxes, Cheryl chose to place the tabbed closure on the front rather than the back. This allowed a nice spot for embellishment near the tab.

Sparkle’s pillow box is made with paper from My Minds Eye. The bear is cut out with Spellbinder’s Circle and Scalloped Nestabilities. It’s also colored in with Copic markers and outlined with Stickles. The project is also accented with a couple of red Prima Flowers and orange buttons to match.

Baby Shower Favor by Lauri Ingram
What a pretty baby shower favor the pillow box makes. The Baby tag from the Pierced Tag set is tucked under a trio of Prima Flowers. The pillow box template was printed on designer paper, and an oval window cut out using a Coluzzle. Acetate was placed over the window and inside are pastel colored jelly beans.

Graduation Pillow Box by Lauri Ingram
For the Graduation Pillow Box, Lauri used the Meander Pierced Background and pierced a sheet of vellum paper. The Congratulations tab, from the Pierced Tag set, is held onto a black paper band with brads. The Graduation cap is clipart, and the box is full of red M&Ms.

Wedding Favor and Gift Card by Lauri Ingram
For a beautiful wedding favor or gift box, Lauri printed the pillow box template on designer paper. Organza ribbon wraps the box, and layered daisies from the Pierced Flowers set adorn the center of the ribbon bow. For a complimentary gift card, Lauri attached another layered daisy on a 3×3" card, layered on matching designer paper. Dew drops highlight the center of the flowers.
