This week’s extra projects are designed by Cheryl Walker. She has written several tutorials that explain some distinctive coloring techniques using Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks and Distress Inks. This decorative cover for a Post-it notepad is made with Nestabilities. Each scallop along the top edge has been punched so that ribbons can be threaded through and tied. The ribbons act as a hinge. You’ll find a complete tutorial on Cheryl’s blog with easy, step-by-step photos for making this project. |

This image from the Mini Bears & Birds set was printed on soft-gloss photo paper. The alcohol inks were applied with a blending tool, and Cheryl’s tutorial shows two examples of bears colored with this technique. |

This is Cheryl’s second example done with alcohol inks. This digi-stamp was printed on regular cardstock rather than photo paper. It is embellished with buttons, a tiny pocket watch, and a mini-bear-sized top hat. |

The third example is colored in Copics for a comparison. Cheryl added a tag from the Pierced Tags set. All the directions and step-by-step photos for the alcohol inks coloring technique are on Cheryl’s blog.

Cheryl is one talented lady!!! I love reading her techniques..not sure mine would come out nearly as nice, but I have to give it a try!
