Many paper crafters share one trait in common: They love to give handmade gifts. This week’s Design Team theme is Gift Cards. A handcrafted card holder or mini box makes giving a gift card more personal and more special. Click the photos below to see larger images and read more details on the designers’ blogs.
Pull Toy Gift Card Slider Sleeve by Lynn McAuley
Lynn’s gift card slider sleeve was designed so that when you pull the sting on this Angels Landing ducky from one of the June releases, Toys on Wheels, the gift card will slide out to the left of the sleeve. The sentiment, "Let the good times roll," is also from the same digi-stamp set. The duck is colored with Prismacolor pencils and odorless mineral spirits. The background is stamped with Itty Bitty Backgrounds by Stampin’ Up. Rhinestones were added to the center of the wheels.

4 U Baby Girl Gift Card Holder by Alma Olhava
This week Alma chose to create a removable bookmark gift card holder inspired by SCS member Shel9999 using the Toys on Wheels digi-stamp set. This would make the perfect presentation for a gift card to the child’s favorite bookstore along with a removable bookmark ready for use (attached on the front of the card). A pocket was created on the inside of the card that houses the gift card. This would make the perfect little gift for a baby girl or an older child ready to read her first book.

Gift Card Express by Suzy Haghighi
This little train is towing along a gift card to someone special. Two pieces of cardstock (Certainly Celery) are sealed on the edges with Red Line Tape to create a pocket for the gift card, which is then fit behind the train image. The images are colored with Copics. Flat-back pearls accent the card on the Cameo Coral scallop strip. Other cardstocks: Blush Blossom, Close to Cocoa, White.

Gift Card Envelope by Lauri Ingram
Gift card holders are always great to have on hand. Lauri used an envelope as the basis for this gift card holder and highlights the little bird from the Mini Bears & Birds set. The inside holds a gift card and a note.

Card with Matching Gift Card Holder by Sparkle Smith
This cute koala is part of the Aussie Animals set. The gift card holder was made to match the card. The border was done with a scalloped punch and the koala is colored in with Copic markers. Both are accented with ribbon, Prima flowers and various brown buttons. A card from Sparkle wouldn’t be complete without a little bit of glitter, which outlines the balloon.

Gift Card Package by Cheryl Rowley
Cheryl used an SCS tutorial to create this mini pizza box. The adorable bear image is from Mini Bears & Birds and is colored with Copic markers. It is mounted on Bo Bunny and My Mind’s Eye designer paper which has been cut with Nestabilities. The box itself is made from Baja Breeze cardstock from Stampin’ Up. This 4" x 4" box will have a gift card surrounded with tissue tucked inside as an end of the school year gift for someone special.
