Design Team: Special Birthday Cards

Birthdays are one of the most popular occasions to send cards, and everyone likes to receive one that’s handmade. This week, the Design Team has come up with some wonderful digi-stamp birthday cards to mark that very special day in a person’s life.

Wallaby Pocket Card by Cheryl Rowley

Cheryl's digi-stamps pocket card

Cheryl colored the wallaby from Aussie Animals with Copic markers to use in this bright "Hoppy Birthday" pocket card. The card style is called a Criss Cross Pocket and directions can be found on Splitcoast Stampers under Resources. Please check out Cheryl’s blog for views of the whole wallaby, Copic marker colors, and a link to the directions.

Diorama Card by Lauri Ingram

Lauri's digi-stamps diorama card

It may look tough, but a diorama card is very easy and creates a big WOW for anyone who receives it on their birthday. Lauri features the birds from the Mini Bears & Birds set on this card, and the "Birthday Wishes" sentiment is from the Pierced Tags set. See her blog for more details.

Pop-up Birthday Card by Lynn McAuley

Lynn's digi-stamp pop-up card

This pop-up birthday card was constructed using an 8" x 8" piece of blue lightweight cardstock cut and scored as shown on the template on Lynn’s blog. The digital images come from Angels Landing’s Mini Bears & Birds as well as Simply Flowers and Pierced Flowers. The bear panel stands out 5/8" from the back when opened because the pop-up apparatus is a standard 5/8 inch tube of lightweight cardstock. The Bird and Bear images were colored with Bic Mark It pens. The flowers were printed on scraps of designer papers. Check Lynn’s blog for the pop-up template and a photo of the card front.

Have a Koala-rrific Day by Alma Olhava

Alma's digi-stamp tri-shutter card

This week is all about birthdays. Alma created this fun tri-shutter card that features many different elements great for display. Alma chose the koala images from Aussie Animals and a birthday sentiment from Pierced Tags. She also created a one-of-a-kind card that not only greets the recipient a big "Koala-rrific Day," but it also comes with a bookmark clip for the avid booklover. You can use the blank template in the middle to write your own message or attach your favorite photo. So, in all, it’s one card that serves a lot of purposes.
