Design Team: Photos and Scrapbooks

Most of the members of the Design Team are card makers. This week they have been challenged to design something related to photos or scrapbooks, and they came up with some neat projects. Click the thumbnails below to visit the designers’ blogs, where you’ll find larger photos and more information.

Name Badge Mini Photo Album by Lynn McAuley

Lynn's digi-stamp mini photo album

With the school year about to kick into high gear, Lynn thought this might be a fun little gift for any band members who may be in your family and their friends. It is a quick, easy, and inexpensive mini album to hold a few favorite photos. The French-horn-playing bunny and musical notes are digital images from Angels Landing’s Marching Band 1. The bunny was colored with Prismacolor pencils and odorless mineral spirits. The French horn was colored with an 18 karat gold pen. The album title was computer generated. The bunny and horn were masked and the card speckled with red ink. This album is 2.5" x 3.5" and is made from four name badges, so it will hold six pictures inside.

Beary Sweet Post-It Photo Frame by Cheryl Walker

Cheryl's digi-stamp photo frame

To decorate this acrylic photo frame, Cheryl chose Doodlebug designer paper and a Martha Stewart heart punch. The flowers have Perfect Pearls brushed on them, and she added a heart-shaped Post-It notepad. She topped it all off with one of her luscious bows.

Baby Girl Card and Frame by Alma Olhava

Alma's digi-stamp baby girl card

For this week’s scrapbook theme, Alma chose to create a card and picture frame to welcome a new little baby girl. For the matching card, the elephant from the Toys on Wheels digital stamps set was printed on patterned paper and paper pieced.

Alma's digi-stamp baby girl frame

The size of Alma’s frame is 7 x 14". It features images from Toys on Wheels topped off with a satin ribbon, Prima flowers, button, and string. The cut-out mats were framed with pink scalloped rectangles. The family can choose to leave the frame as-is, or what a great way to capture baby’s first pictures. Visit Alma’s blog for additional photos of this project.

Baby Brag Book by Cheryl Rowley

Cheryl's digi-stamp brag book

Cheryl has used Toys on Wheels to make this cover for a small Baby Brag Book. Wouldn’t this be a great gift for the Grandma of a new baby? Cheryl’s 4½" x 6" cover fits into this pre-made plastic photo holder. Matching cardstock is inserted into the back cover. This little book is protected so the photos can be carried around in a purse and not damaged. She colored her image with Copic markers and used coordinating patterns of Basic Grey Lemonade paper.

SCS Color Challenge

One of the Angels Landing Design Team members, Suzy Haghighi, is hosting the color challenge on the Splitcoast forums this week. On her card sample, she used the Alphabet Train digi-stamps set to make a train delivering a gift card in one of its cars. Follow these links to check it out….
