With the start of the 2009-2010 school year, the Design Team has come up with some creative ideas for this week’s Back to School theme. They range from bookmarks to composition books to pencil cases, and all of them have been done with digital images. Hit the Books by Cheryl Rowley
It’ll be back to school soon, and with that theme in mind Cheryl has created this "Hit the Books" series of bookmarks. She has used images from Aussie Animals and branches from her stamp collection, as well as some sparkle and shine to make these little scenes that can mark the page in a textbook or in a favorite bedtime story. Please visit Cheryl’s blog for close up photos of each of these creations.

Good Luck Kitties Card by Cheryl Walker
These kitties were airbrushed with the Copic airbrushing system and then cut out. Cheryl popped them up on the scalloped oval. She did decorative sewing on the three panels of designer paper. (She says she’s having way too much fun with this.) She also added some flowers and a sentiment tag with gems. A sheer bow finishes off her sweet card.

Cats Rule Bookmark by Lynn McAuley
It’s that time of year — back to the school books. So what could be more purr-fect than some adorable kitty cat bookmarks? Lynn cut the front of her bookmark from a sheet of white Georgia Pacific cardstock on which she had printed a row of digital paw prints from Angels Landing’s August release Cat Paw Prints. The Cats Rule book was created from colored cardstock. The cat is from Cats and Kittens, the other new release this month, and was also printed on white cardstock, cut out, and colored with Prismacolor Pencils and odorless mineral spirits. The sentiment, "Cozy Up to a Good Book," was computer generated. After assembling the pieces, she inserted the bookmark in a plastic sleeve, punched a hole in it, and finished it off with pretty ribbons.

"Teachers Inspire" Gift Set by Alma Olhava
Summer is coming to an end and school is just around corner. What better way to welcome a teacher to the new school year than with a back to school gift set that includes a mini journal with matching beaded pen and a bookmark. Alma chose to use three different teddy bear images from the Mini Bears & Birds digi-stamp set to make each piece unique. She paired them with a school font that brings you back to the good ol’ school days.
This bookmark matches Alma’s teacher set. The top text says "Read," and the bottom says "This book belongs to: _______."
Alma’s gift set includes this "Inspire" card. Check her blog for additional photos of the complete teacher gift set.
