Design Team: Autumn Colors

October means changing seasons, and the Design Team has created nine cards in glorious fall color palettes. Click the thumbnails below to visit the designers’ blogs for larger photos and more details. And be sure to scroll all the way down this post for a notice about this month’s Blog Hop. :D

Thank You Card by Amber Hight

digi-stamps

When Amber found out our challenge this week was to use autumn colors, she immediately thought of this sweet set called “Autumn Tweetings.” These are some of her favorite colors to work with. In the larger photo on her blog, you can even see some faux stitching on the chocolate piece that was created using Faux Stitched Borders. Amber says she was never able to stitch a straight line, but with these piercing templates it makes it so easy.

Embossed Acorn Birdhouse by Cindy Royal

digi-stamps

Cindy printed this Autumn Tweetings image on paper painted with tan acrylic paint, then heat embossed it with gold embossing powder. It’s then colored with Copics, but the acrylic paint surface gives the Copics a totally different look. Edges are stitched with gold metallic thread, and then there is some burgundy colored stitching as well.

Pick of the Patch by Jennifer Love

Jennifer loves this Autumn Tweetings set. She printed the pumpkin birdhouse on white cardstock and colored with Copic markers. A bit of ribbon and a lovely strip of patterned papers completes this clean and simple card.

Pumpkin Birdhouse by Lauri Ingram

digi-stamps

When Lauri was growing up, her favorite colors were yellow and orange, so she was happy to go back to those colors this week for the Angels Landing Design Team assignment. Using one of her all-time favorite images from the Autumn Tweetings set, Lauri printed the image on Neenah Ivory and layered with the yummy colors of orange and yellow.

This sweet bird from Autumn Tweetings was
printed on Naturals Ivory cardstock and
colored with Prismacolor pencils and
odorless mineral spirits. Lynn tried to convey the
richness and beauty of the season through
this mix of autumn colors, textures, and
image.

Bird Feeling Fall by Lisa Cook

digi-stamps

Lisa’s card uses an image from the Autumn Tweetings set. It is colored with Copic markers. She uses Nestability Circles to frame the image. The red flowers are punches from Martha Stewart, as are the leaves. The centers are tiny beads just glued on. The border punch is also from Martha Stewart. The sheer ribbon with the knot is Stampin’ Up. She really used the colors to achieve a true feeling of Fall with this.

Autumn Tweetings by Michelle Redman

digi-stamps

Michelle has used images from Autumn Tweetings colored with Prismacolor pencils and odorless mineral spirits. The images are popped up with Dimensionals. She used Chocolate Chip as her base color, two different designer papers she got from Hobby Lobby, and brushed gold metallic paper to accent. She daubered her Chocolate Chip paper with Chocolate Chip ink to give it a bolder look. For her embellishments, she used brads and wired ribbon. Her sentiment is computer generated and daubered with Really Rust around the edges.

For a Special Friend by Cheryl Walker

digi-stamps

Starting with an image from the Mini Bears & Birds set, Cheryl has made an autumn Post-it Notes cover. She used different shades of inks and then used this Opalite on top of the bear after she was done. It gives an opal look to it (rather hard to see in this thumbnail photo). She used a ribbon she bought a few weeks ago and wishes she would have bought a few rolls of it, since she loves it. The ribbon’s rich hues are so appropriate for fall.

Autumn Bear Card by Broni Holcombe

digi-stamps

This little bear from the Mini Bears & Birds digi-stamp collection could make anyone smile. He is just adorable. This "thinking of you" card was made using rich Autumn colors and Basic Grey’s new Indian Summer line of paper. The bear was printed on cream cardstock, colored with Prismacolor pencils, and cut with a circle Nestabilities die, then framed on a die cut Dahlia flower. The small green panel at the bottom of the card was embossed in a Cuttlebug Leafy Branch folder and rubbed over with Ranger Distress Brushed Corduroy ink. The sentiment tag from the Pierced Tags set was also printed on cream cardstock and colored with Prismacolor pencils. It was tied onto the ribbon with linen thread.
