Matchbox Card by Jeanette Comerford
Our Guest Designer for October, Jeanette Comerford, has created a special card with four mini pull-out drawers made with a matchbox die. She chose to color the cardinals as the more subtly shaded females rather than the brighter red males.
In addition to these two photos, Jeanette also sent this description: “My project today is actually a gift for my mother-in-law. She loves birds and her garden is always filled with them. I created a matchbox card. The card is adhered onto the matchboxes and is tied shut with a ribbon. The image was colored with Copics and then I added a layer of UTEE (ultra thick embossing powder) to it so it will be more durable.”

Paper: Stampin’ Up Basic Black, Sahara Sand Cardstock, Parisien Breeze DP
Coloring: Copic Markers, UTEE
Embellies: SU! Chocolate Chip Silk Ribbon, Gemstone brads (handles), Hero Arts gems

Thank You, Jeanette
On a personal note, one of the nicest aspects about having monthly Guest Designers is that I get the opportunity to work with new artists that I might not have otherwise met. I have so enjoyed my interaction with Jeanette. I already respected her talent level before I first contacted her, but the projects she has done for Angels Landing have exceeded my expectations. I want to sincerely thank her for all the inspiration she has given us this month.
Since I was reluctant to see Jeanette leave, I invited her to participate in the November Blog Hop. She will be returning on Wednesday 11/18/09 to help us celebrate next month’s new releases.
Welcome, Cindy
On the Mondays in November, we will be lucky enough to have Cindy Haffner joining us. You can check out her style ahead of time by previewing the stunning photos on her blog, Cindy Haffner’s Corner. Her background is on this page on my main website: Digital Stamping Guest Designers. I’m looking forward to Cindy’s first Angels Landing card, which will be running next Monday, 11/2/09.
