Design Team: Gift Giving

After the biggest shopping weekend of the year, the Design Team’s theme this Wednesday is anything to do with gifts. They have come up with a variety of holiday gift bags, boxes, and pockets.

Polar Sweet Treats by Michelle Redman

For Michelle’s Gift Giving project, she chose to make a window treat box. She used an image from the Polar Bear Cubs set, coloring it slightly with Prismacolor pencils and odorless mineral spirits. She used Shimmering White, Felt Snowflake DP, and Metallic Silver for her papers, and Nestabilities to cut out her window. Her embellishments include white wired ribbon and die-cut snowflakes covered in Dazzling Diamonds centered with a rhinestone. Her sentiment is computer generated. The candy inside the box is vanilla flavored Tootsie Rolls.

The gift of choice for teens in Lynn’s family is the beloved gift card. Each year she designs an ornament to hang on the tree to hold them. For this year’s ornament, she created a small pocket card to slip the gift cards into using Angels Landing’s Polar Bear Cubs. They are going to be a hit on Christmas morning.

Lisa gave her gift sack a fun twist by using red vellum instead of paper. She accented the Penguin Chick image with some glitter paper, miniature silver brads, and sparkly wire handle.

Cindy made this box-bottom gift bag, dry embossed the cardstock, and added die-cut snowflakes with the Penguin Chick image and the Let It Snow sentiment from the same set. She gave it a paper handle to match the bag.

Acorn Birdhouse Gift Bag by Maria Bell

digi-stamps

Maria decided to use an Autumn Tweetings digi-stamp because she thought it was a perfect image for Christmas. She colored it with Copic markers and hand sewed the stitches with the beads. All she did was basically attach the decorated panel to a gift bag and created a coordinating tag. It’s a fast and easy way to jazz up a plain gift bag.
